Funding

Wetaskiwin and District Victim Services (WDVS) operates under the Victims of Crime Act (1997). As a police-based Victim Services program it is eligible to apply for funding from the Victims of Crime Fund which is administered through the Department of the Solicitor General and Public Security. The majority of funding for WDVS comes from this fund.

Other major contributors include the City of Wetaskiwin, County of Wetaskiwin, and the Town of Millet including their FCSS programs.

Important supporters of Victim Services are the corporate community of Wetaskiwin, private donors, and Service Clubs.

A curling funspiel is the main fundraiser organized by Victim Services each year.
