Critical Incident Stress Management

Incidents in the Wetaskiwin area may result in some emergency personnel being traumatized by their involvement in a disaster or emergency. In such cases, it may be necessary to provide post incident debriefing support. The Wetaskiwin and District Victim Services Critical Incident Stress Team is formed to provide outreach support services for ambulance, fire, and police services. The Team is also intended to provide support to groups of civilians following critical incidents. The CISTeam in Wetaskiwin uses the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation model.
